maison d'être lookbook, Fall 2011

maison d'être is the collective title for my artist's armory. I experiment with a lot of creative methods and individuals (government name: "art whore"), and the result is a lot of things that are not rooted directly in traditional media. Textiles tend to factor heavily in these experiments, and so I decided to fashion an umbrella under which all of these projects can fall. maison d'être is the haus of everything that isn't a painting.

After months of conceptualization and dirty hands, I have launched my first official wearable collection: a selection of repurposed vintage jackets and sweaters. It is an evolving set, with new pieces slated for release throughout the season. Which basically means that I had an attack of ideas after we shot, and so there are more dogfight styles comin atcha.

These styles are available for a brief pre-sale at the weekend. Go to my shop for them details!

eastern seaboard tour

This year, there was a family reunion for my NYirish side which is YAY because those relations and cousins are very fun. Us frontier folk went out trundling through the states where our eastern seaboard friends and family are, and eventually came together in Buffalo, NY. And then some of us wandered into Canada.

It was hotter than an Amazonian orgy in New York, so I sliced up some H&M thing with our host's kitchen scissors. Instant knot dress!

There are a million old buildings in abundance, with all their killer details. It's kind of quiet during the day.
